An easy-to-prepare, protein-rich snack for your feathered friend! Please note each 1kg portion will vary slightly in its contents. Typically you can expect to receive 650-750g of the lentil portion, and 250-350g of the larger beans mix.

Ingredients

Pasta, Lentils, Legumes, Split Peas, Basmati Rice, Quinoa, Pearled Barley

Cooking Directions

Pasta/Rice/Lentils Mixture: 

1. Bring a pot of water to a boil.
2. Add the pasta/rice/lentils mixture and boil for 15 minutes. 
3. Drain the water and rinse very well.
4. Squeeze/press as much water out of it as possible for a nice fluffy mixture.

Legumes & Chickpeas:

1. Bring a pot of water to a boil.
2. Add the bean & chickpea mixture and boil for 40 minutes.
3. Drain the water and rinse very well.

Combine the two mixtures and add chopped or frozen veggies, berries, apples, and a sprinkle of cinnamon.  Mix well.  This can now be frozen in containers, or ice cube trays for easy and convenient feeding.

Feeding Guidelines

Offer cooked mix daily, twice daily, once a week - whatever works for you! A variety of fruits, vegetables, and other "whole food" items are without argument the key to a healthy, balanced diet. If you find that your bird is consistently only eating certain items, try reducing the amount you offer. This will encourage them to eat the whole offering. 

Use this table as a guideline for how much to offer your bird! Amounts are per bird.

Only offer this mix when cooked thoroughly and properly - NEVER offer your bird raw/uncooked legumes or lentils. Discard any uneaten bean mix after about 3 hours of offering.

Storage Instructions

Dry bean mix can be stored in a dry location at room temperature for several months. Once prepared, we suggest freezing your mix into "serving sized" portions for easy and convenient feedings.
