A mama penguin, a papa penguin, and the fluffiest little downy chick you've ever seen — all rendered in hand-painted porcelain bisque by one of the most collectible American decanter brands of the 1970s. This mini Ski Country decanter is a genuinely charming piece, small enough to tuck into a bar vignette but detailed enough to earn its own spotlight.
The painting is meticulous — every feather, every expression, every tuft of baby down captured with the kind of care that made Ski Country's collection of nearly 195 designs so beloved. Originally sold with Bourbon Whiskey by Foss Drug of Golden, Colorado, now empty, part of the 1978 Wildlife series. The original label is missing but the piece itself is in wonderful condition.

Ski Country was launched in 1972 by Foss Drug of Golden, Colorado, originally producing porcelain art decanters shaped like skiers. The line quickly expanded to nearly 195 different designs — wildlife, people, buildings, rodeos, and state themes — all hand-painted in Japan and filled with bourbon whiskey. Production ran until 1983 and the entire collection is now highly collectible.
